PETA’s Pokemon Black and White 2

Pokemon Black and White 2 was released on October 7th. Fantastic, right? PETA members may not agree, they decided to make their own parody of the game, Pokemon Black and Blue, for their site.

As you defeat each scientists, a new Pokemon is freed and added to your party. The game gives you the option to give the Pokemon you free a nickname just like the regular Pokemon game. In the parody Team Plasma is portrayed as the hero. In the regular series of games Team Plasma was introduced in Pokemon Black and White, they want to free Pokemon from their trainers. Not all Team Plasma members felt this way, Ghetsis' plan was to steal the Pokemon for himself to have world domination. Story unfolds in Black and White 2 with the introduction of Team Neo Plasma.

As you progress through the story the Parody has there are treasure chests you encounter with 'prizes.' The chests include videos of animals in what they consider are suffering due to horrible conditions, a wallpaper for your PC, and some faux Pokemon cards to add to your collection.

Ash Ketchum even makes an appearance. He was portrayed as complete opposite as he is in the show. He's kind to his Pokemon, cries when Pikachu gets injured, has even set some of his own Pokemon free so they can be happier.

PETA made the parody to share a message of equality for all Pokemon and animals alike.

“If PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokemon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist or their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children.”- Team PETA

What did you think of PETA's parody? Funny? Horrible? Video is not getting the message across? Do you agree with the video's message?
